Last July19, 2012, Monin Cup Philippines staged a promising competition geared towards the skill of the bartender in the aspect of mixology. Facilitated by Ms. Danee Macatulad of Savoroso, this event was participated by 12 bartenders where they whipped up their original concoctions in front of the crowd while talking.It has the same objectives like that of Mix it Up!Search of the Best student Mixologist, which is good to know since now it is not only about flipping of bottles but more importantly it's about making the BEST drink for everyone to enjoy. The judges included 3 show judges and 3 tasting judges. The champion would be sent off to Malaysia to compete for the international Monin Cup.The event was held at Society Lounge in Makati City. The champion of this competition was Paulo Eiron Layao, a member of Bar Fusion Society.Airel Mendoza was the 1st runner up and the guy to watch out for is the second runner up Arwin Santos who joined a pro competition for the first time and landed at 2nd runner up. This is so far the best competition at this category having an evenly judged competition with the placers only having a 2 point difference among each other...talk about neck and neck.
